I’m gonna start this week off with a little bit of personal news, so feel free to skip this if you wish.<\/p>\n

Sunday was my last day in the employ of Electronics Boutique. Now don’t get excited, there’s no juicy story or scandal involved. I was simply offered a position elsewhere, and it was an opportunity worth exploring. I know, that’s far less entertaining than hearing I finally freaked out on a customer because he asked me to calculate tax for him, but it’s the truth. What you see below is my last clock-out slip.<\/p>\n

Why did I keep that? I don’t know, it seemed like a cool idea at the time. As you can see, EB got 7 free minutes out of me. And they were quality minutes, I assure you. In fact, I think I was finishing off one last Xbox bundle pre-sale.<\/p>\n

The reason I’m bothering to mention this (my leaving EB, not the extra 7 minutes) is it just seemed like the right thing to do. I started d+pad as a video game store employee who wanted to share the fun and\/or merriment that went along with that job with the rest of the world. Now that I’m no longer a video game store employee, people have been asking me “what will you do about d+pad?”. Well, I have no intention of quitting d+pad, and as long as I can find funny things to say about video games and the video game industry, I’ll continue writing strips. Fortunately, I wore that nametag more than long enough to provide me with ample material for a long time.<\/p>\n

Before I sign off for today I’d like to express my thanks to the great staff at EBX Yorkdale. I don’t think I could have asked for a better working environment, and serving with those guys was always a blast. They were the inspiration for the VGS crew, and more than a few d+pad strips.<\/p>\n

Thanks guys, and I look forward to asking each and every one of you to calculate tax for me as a customer.<\/p>\n
