The quest to find Rick’s replacement has finally come to and end. Need proof that truth is stranger than fiction? Check out today’s strip and take my word for it.

Pseudo-hiring activities aside, this week has been a busy one, but not as busy as it could have been. Due to the many complex factors and intricate variables involved in shipping product (move box A to store B), all the big releases have been split up over the past few days. NBA Street made it out and looks like a blast (yes, it is a PS2 game, go figure), and so does Sonic 2. By the time you read this the Baldur’s Gate 2 expansion should also be out. I know I’ve said that before, but that was just a drill. This time I mean it. If that weren’t enough, Startopia is another fairly big release that’s also making it out this week. It’s funny how these releases tend to come in clumps. Weeks can go by without anything decent to play, and then all of a sudden a big ol’ pile of gaming goodness gets dropped on you all at the same time. Fortunately these releases didn’t all come out on the same day, because the resulting frenzy would likely have had me tossing Pokemon cards shruiken-style at grabby customers.

In other big news, Bleem! just announced that the Metal Gear Solid for Dreamcast disc has just gone gold. Ironically, this is the news that has me most excited of all. You all know that I’m a Dreamcast freak, so I’ll spare you any additional verbiage on the subject, but needless to say this is good news.

That’s it for today, don’t forget to check in tomorrow to see the next d+pad colorform(tm) winner’s strip!
